I’m the proud owner a brand new MacBook Pro (base 15″ model). What makes me even more happy is the fact that I got it for under $100.

How? It was one of those ‘fill out all these stupid online offers and get a free computer’ – I really didn’t think it would work, but it did.

I’m not going to outline exactly what I did since it’s already been discussed extensively at a couple of sites:

• Scam.com – the most active discussion on how to get a free MacBook Pro
• “How I Got a Free MacBook Pro” – basically outlines what you need to do go get the laptop and gives some tips on doing it effectively
• Rate The Offers

The site I used was computer-offer.com, to get to there site type in “free macbook pro” in google and picke the top-most advertiser link (the one with “computer-offer.com” under the title). It took about a week to complete the 18 required offers, and 3 weeks for the to process my voucher and send me the laptop. Not bad considering they were closed for a week, and shipping was really slow because of the holidays.

Needless to say, I’m very happy with this computer. It’s very fast. It compiles App Stop (almost 11,000 lines of code) in about 30sec where my old g4 took about 10 minutes. I’ll hopefully have universal binaries of all the apps on this site very soon!
